Mr.
David Schaaf brings five years’ experience as a research
analyst for the Legislative Assembly in Alberta. Before joining
Nichols Applied Management, David served as Director of Research
for the Official Opposition of Alberta where he oversaw policy
development, assisted in strategic planning, and gained considerable
experience in effective practice research. He brings a wealth
of knowledge and experience on a variety of public policy issues.
He has a strong background
in health care policy and research having worked on projects that
examined primary care reform, policy instrument utilization, and
public policy debate on health reform. He also organized and executed
province-wide public consultations as part of a health care policy
development process.
David has recently
worked on projects with Nichols Applied Management related to
labour market needs and skill shortages in Alberta, as well as
conducting an assessment and profile of the post-secondary system
in the Calgary area. He has also prepared background research
on the labour market affects from a large oil sands plant expansion.
In addition to his
work in policy research and management consulting, David has a
strong personal interest in public affairs. He served on behalf
of the Government of Canada as a team leader during the 2004 election
in the Ukraine. |
